What is the sailing way of life?

The value of a sailboat lies as much in what it represents as in what it does.  Your sailboat can bring you, your family and friends together in ways that are increasingly hard to manage in the shore side environment where the pace of life is in danger of outpacing our ability to cope with it. Sailors know that a sailboat is much more than just a grown-up toy bought in an impulsive moment, used fleetingly, and then left to languish in the basement.  Whether you sail a luxury cruiser of a beat-up dinghy, sailing blesses you with the time to reflect on life and it’s meaning to you and those close to you.  It reestablishes your connection to the natural world and cleanses your mind of the useless clutter that can overwhelm you if you let it.  I can guarantee you this, you will never come back from sailing feeling worse about life than when you left.  The old saying goes, every hour on a boat is a day added to your life.  I hope you can say this is true for you.  When you sit down to reevaluate your priorities in life, think about this:  Money goes and money comes, but life just goes.  The question you should be asking yourself is not whether you can afford a sailboat, but whether you can afford not to have one.
